E-flite Super Decathlon 1.2m RC Airplane Introduction
Pilots and instructors widely regard the Super Decathlon as one of the best aerobatic trainers in full-scale aviation. Its iconic design traces its roots back to the Aeronca Champ and Citabria, but was upgraded with inverted fuel and oil systems, plus a nearly symmetrical wing, to allow it to perform "outside" and inverted maneuvers with ease. The original E-Flite® Decathlon RJG 1.2m quickly became known as one of the most capable, well-equipped, and easiest-to-fly models of the American aviation classic. Now it's available again with one of the most recognizable and iconic Super Decathlon trim and colour schemes, featuring all the same great features and performance of the original – and even more! Featuring the same "friendly handling" airfoil and wing design, it's capable of smooth sport flying for low-time and intermediate pilots to more aggressive aerobatic flying for experienced pilots, without the "bad manners" many other Super Decathlon models are known for. It features LED landing and navigation lights along with a variety of scale details to deliver an authentic flying experience. The Super Decathlon also features improved digital, metal-geared servos throughout, along with a 3S- and 4S-compatible power system including a 45A Spektrum™ Avian™ Smart Lite ESC. Like the original Decathlon RJG 1.2m, it's a replica of the aviation icon that's flown by professional pilots in airshows and pilots learning to fly aerobatics at their local airport. It's factory-finished with the popular and extremely recognizable red, white, and black "starburst" trim scheme, plus it features a variety of scale details, including functional LED landing and navigation lights, wheel pants, and wing struts. The one-piece wing is easy to install/remove thanks to hands-free connections and thumbscrews, and the struts snap into/out of place without the need for any fasteners or tools – even though it's conveniently sized to be easy to store and transport without disassembly! Improved digital and metal-geared servos, along with ball-link equipped linkages, provide even more precise and reliable control for smooth sport to aggressive aerobatic flying. Both versions feature a 3S and 4S 2200–3200mAh compatible power system, including a 45-amp Spektrum™ Avian™ Smart Lite ESC. Skill Level 3 – Experience Required
Skill Level 3 aircraft, like this one, are suitable for more experienced RC pilots who already have the skills to assemble, set up, and fly similar class models. This PNP version requires more experience and skills to assemble and fly than the BNF Basic version because you will need to install a receiver that does not already include properly tuned AS3X+ and SAFE Select technologies. It's not a suitable first-ever RC aircraft for new pilots or "next step after a trainer" model for low-time to intermediate RC pilots. You should have the experience and skills necessary to assemble and successfully fly models like the E-flite T-28 Trojan 1.1m, Valiant 1.3m, Turbo Timber Evolution 1.5m, or other similar class models before attempting to fly the Super Decathlon 1.2m PNP version.

The Plug-N-Play (PNP) version comes out of the box with a factory-installed power system and servos, ready to connect to the compatible receiver of your choice (sold separately), along with the transmitter and battery you provide (also sold separately). Install the receiver, finish any final assembly, and fly!
