Skill Level 3 – Experience Required
Skill Level 3 aircraft, like this one, are suitable for more experienced RC pilots who already have the skills to assemble, set up, and fly similar class models. This PNP version requires more experience and skills to assemble and fly than the BNF Basic version because you will need to install a receiver that does not already include properly tuned AS3X+ and SAFE Select technologies. You should have the experience and skills necessary to assemble and successfully fly models like the E-flite T-28 Trojan 1.1m, Valiant 1.2m, Commander mPd 1.4m, Turbo Timber Evolution 1.5m, or other similar class models before attempting to fly the Night Timber X Evolution 1.2m PNP version.
Plug-N-Play® Completion Level
The Plug-N-Play (PNP) version comes out of the box with a factory-installed power system and servos that are ready to connect to the compatible receiver of your choice (sold separately), plus the transmitter and battery you provide (also sold separately). Simply install the receiver, finish any final assembly, and fly!
Easy Assembly
No glue is required for assembly, and because the few parts that need to be assembled easily bolt into place, the Night Timber X Evolution can be ready to fly in less time than it takes to charge the flight battery. The two-piece wing, now featuring combined servo and LED connectors, also makes transport and storage more convenient than before.
eXtra LED Lights
Embedded throughout the airframe are factory-installed LED lights that make it possible to fly all day AND all night, too! They're conveniently powered by the 3S or 4S 2200–3200mAh flight battery and can easily be disconnected when flying in daylight conditions. Plus, just like other Timbers, the Night Timber X Evolution 1.2m is also equipped with realistic-looking LED landing, navigation and strobe lights.
eXtreme Maneuverability
The Night Timber X Evolution 1.2m features a wing design with a shortened span plus much larger ailerons and flaps, along with an enlarged elevator and rudder, compared to the Timber 1.5m models. Double-beveled hinge lines make it possible to deflect every control surface, including the flaps that can travel in both directions, to high angles for outstanding control and eXtreme 3D aerobatic capability. Or on low rates the controls can be smooth and docile so you can fly as mild or as wild as you'd like!
eXtra Power
The factory-installed brushless power system features a Spektrum Avian 70-amp Smart Lite ESC along with a specially-tuned motor and prop that deliver an abundance of thrust with a 3S LiPo battery, or eXtra power and unlimited vertical performance with a 4S battery without the need for any modifications or upgrades. Plus, the more convenient top hatch and larger battery compartment makes it easier to fit batteries from 3S 2200mAh to 4S 3200mAh to achieve a wide variety of performance and flight times
eXtremely Durable
Composite-reinforced, hollow-core construction with EPO material delivers a lightweight yet durable airframe. The Night Timber X Evolution 1.2m is also equipped with updated and more reliable metal-geared servos for precise control no matter how you fly it.
Versatile Gear Options
Thick grass, gravel paths, dirt trails - even local lakes and ponds - you can fly off of these and many other surfaces that are impossible for most models of this size to handle. The stronger, reinforced mounts in the fuselage, plus shock-absorbing landing gear equipped with the heavier-duty springs similar to the Twin Timber 1.6m, soak up the bumps of rough surfaces and not-so-great landings. And the oversized, tundra-style wheels and tires provide excellent prop clearance. The optional float set (sold separately) features dual water rudders for superb steering control. Whichever gear option you choose to fly with, both are easy to install and can be swapped out in minutes.
STOL (Short Takeoff and Landing) Capable
The wing design has a shorter span yet almost as much wing area as the Timber 1.5m models, plus it features drooped wingtips and can be equipped with the included optional-use leading edge slats for improved slow flight and STOL performance. These features, along with the lightweight design, oversized flaps and high-power brushless power system, make it possible to spring into the air or float down to land in as little as two feet or less.
